Qualified candidates must be able to perform a variety of skilled duties in one or more of the building trades, such as painting, carpentry, minor electrical work, cement masonry, dry wall or other recognized crafts for the purpose of maintaining, repairing or remodeling our showrooms.


Essential Functions

Prepares and paints walls

Conducts minor woodwork repairs, including types of refinishing

Installs or repairs carpet

Performs custodial duties as required

Assists in the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems (i.e. plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning)

Helps with large showroom projects like merchandise refreshes and store openings

Assists in minor electrical work

Performs preventive maintenance on equipment

Performs safety checks throughout the facility to ensure a safe and clean environment for the patrons of the showrooms to eliminate all hazards

Other duties as assigned


Experience and Skills:


High School Diploma/GED

Four (4) years of related employment in the building/construction trades, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience

Demonstrated knowledge of construction practices and procedures

Demonstrated knowledge of general maintenance and repair work

Understanding of rough and finished carpentry techniques

Ability to use various carpentry supplies and equipment

Considerable knowledge of various lumber grades and types and their adaptability to certain settings

A desire to learn modern methods and techniques of building construction, materials and methods

Ability to prepare walls and woodwork for various types of refinishing

Thorough knowledge of proper safety techniques and procedures

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, as well as to work independently

Ability to communicate, both verbally and written

A valid Driver's License and excellent driving record

Certification of Journey Level carpentry skills, preferred
