Job Description:

Broad River Retail d/b/a Ashley HomeStore has an immediate opening for an HR Generalist focusing on employee relations support for our NC, SC and GA locations.

 Summary:

Provide leadership, support and guidance to all employees in matters relating to employee relations, including performance management, conduct & disciplinary matters, policy interpretation, and coaching opportunities. Perform with the highest level of integrity and compliance to all applicable HR laws.

Experience and Skills:

Demonstrated knowledge of HR laws and processes

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Proficient in the use of systems, including HR database applications, spreadsheets and reports

Skilled in the analysis of HR related data

Ability to work well under pressure and respond appropriately in stressful situations

Partner successfully with HR team, other departments& retail leaders

Essential Functions:

 

Partner with leaders to support all aspects of employee experience, to include influencing the appropriate application of expectations and policies, documentation, performance review and merit increase process

Act as the initial point of contact for all employee relations issues or concerns and hotline complaints, to collect information and document conversations for formal investigative process and successful resolution

Review/audit all involuntary terminations to ensure process adherence and legal compliance

Manage unemployment claim process

Provide monthly metrics pertaining to headcount, turnover, performance management: participate in the completion of annual HR reporting/audits

Assist with the recruitment and interview process, as needed

Serve as an advocate for employee benefits

Participate in and lead efforts designed to improve employee morale

Conduct employee exit interviews for voluntary terms

Required Experience:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field, or equivalent work experience in related mid-level HR fields. Experience in retail industry and PHR Certification a plus

Working knowledge of and experience applying employment laws including EEO, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, HIPAA, OSHA and other federal, state and local laws governing the workplace

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with presentation experience

Consistent application of problem solving finesse through use of objective evaluation and coaching/resolution skills

Ability to analyze data using systems reporting and critical thinking skills

Attention to verbal, documented and interpersonal detail

Based in Charlotte, NC, with availability to respond to after hours issues, and travel as necessary
